Firm up the shift feel on the Honda Grom or Honda Monkey 125

Could be my favorite mod yet. Some people claim neutral is hard to find. I dont have that issue. Shifting is so much better and now I have it adjusted for the right position. The look fits so well too.

A very nice, quality part. Added 5hp at the rear wheel and the ability to wheelie in 4th. Okay, it only wheelies in 3rd but the part is nice. Can’t wait for more Monkey parts. Tail light please!

Clean setup without the sloppy factory look. Fir and finish is on par for sure.

I really, really wanted to like this. The stock shifter is mushy, cheap looking, and has overly complicated linkage. This simplifies it all and looks great. The spring tension on the knurled tip feels solid. Overall build quality gave me a good feeling. Unfortunately the good news stops there.
I installed this without too much of a hassle, though you will want some snap ring pliers to remove the factory snap ring. Once installed I went for a ride. It didn’t feel much different from stock. It was still mushy when you reach 1st or 4th, and now neutral is a bear to find. I’ve never had a bike this difficult to find neutral. Some you can only find from 2nd, others from 1st, but this was all over the place. Perhaps things will work themselves out after a few hundred miles (I only have about 300 so far) and my first oil change, but I am going back to the stock shifter for now. A must buy if you do not plan on riding your bike.
Not that bad
